The Institute for Sustainable Development (ISD) has taken an important step in reinforcing its role as a key actor in environmental governance and policy dialogue in North Macedonia. By accepting the invitation to join the Advisory Board of the eHUB4LIFE project (LIFE25-CAP-MK-eHUB4LIFE), ISD positions itself at the heart of national efforts to strengthen environmental protection and climate action through the opportunities provided by the EU LIFE Programme.

This engagement reflects ISD’s continued commitment to contributing expertise, field experience and strategic insight in shaping sustainable development pathways. As a member of the Advisory Board, ISD will actively support the project’s mission to enhance national capacities and improve access to LIFE Programme funding, one of the European Union’s most important financial instruments for environment and climate initiatives.

A central component of the project is the organisation of a dedicated round table on environmental priorities in North Macedonia. This event will convene a broad range of stakeholders, including representatives from public institutions, local self-government units, civil society organisations and environmental experts. Designed as an open and interactive platform, the round table will foster constructive dialogue on current environmental challenges, policy developments and pressing national needs.

Supporting national capacity building and policy development in environment and climate action

Through this inclusive exchange, participants will work toward identifying priority areas where LIFE Programme support can generate the greatest impact. The insights and recommendations gathered during the discussions will directly contribute to the development of a national needs assessment report—an important strategic document that will guide future project development and investment in the environmental sector.

The eHUB4LIFE project is coordinated by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning in partnership with the Knowledge and Skills Management Centre (K&S Skopje), ensuring strong institutional backing and technical expertise.

ISD’s involvement in this initiative not only highlights its growing influence in national and regional sustainability processes but also underlines its dedication to fostering collaboration, advancing evidence-based policymaking and supporting North Macedonia’s alignment with European environmental standards.
